For five Saturdays this winter, our verandah is home to Melissa Palinkas — one of Western Australia’s most respected chefs.

WA Good Food Guide Chef of the Year in 2019, with her restaurant Young George recently awarded a second hat, Palinkas is known for bold, produce-driven cooking grounded in a nose-to-tail, root-to-shoot philosophy.

One long table. Fifty seats. Four courses over fire.

The Long Table is Melissa’s weekly Saturday lunch at Willespie – one long table wraps the verandah, and fifty people sit down together. Some of them strangers. Most of them, by the end of lunch, not.

Four courses, cooked over the purpose-built asado and above-ground grill, in full view of the table. The menu shifts each week. The wines are Willespie’s. The afternoon is yours.

Arrive a little early – your seat comes with a complimentary tasting of their current releases at the cellar door before lunch begins.

A seasonal menu, written a week at a time.

Melissa cooks with what’s good right now – pulled from the ground, picked off the trees, or landed on the boats that week. Sourced directly from WA growers, makers and fishers, and shaped by what the asado and grill are calling for.

The menu doesn’t sit on a card waiting for you. It’s written the week of, and shared with booked guests the week before lunch.

WHEN: Every Saturday, 16 May – 13 June 2026, from 1:00pm.
BEFORE LUNCH: A complimentary tasting at the cellar door, on us.
PRICE: $120 per person. Wine pairing available — four glasses from the Wilyabrup Reserve range, +$60 per person. Simply add at the cart stage before payment.
SEATS: Fifty. Bookings essential.
MENU: Released the week prior to your booking.
DIETARIES: Because the menu follows the season and the season doesn’t take requests, they keep dietaries simple. They can accommodate gluten-free and vegetarian at the long table.
